ENTRECÔTE IS MELBOURNE’S CLASSIC PARISIAN BISTRO

Domain Road has been ringing since Entrecôte swung open its doors a couple of months earlier. The two-story balcony that as soon as housing Melbourne organization Lynch’s for over thirty years, has been reborn as a traditional Parisian Bistro under the specialist assistance of Jason M Jones (The Stables of Como, Friends of Mine) and Adam North (Hopkins River Beef manufacturer).

The fit-out by Flack Studio is fantastic, and I discovered myself roaming through all the spaces and finding more to like around every corner. The striking artwork in each area integrated with the fresh flowers includes heat and the sensation of being welcomed into somebody’s house. Offered half a possibility, I would load a travel suitcase and move right on in.

Pendant lights hang suspended in cages; a neon ‘Marvellous’ is scrawled throughout the wall of the bar, while the red leather banquette seats in the cubicles have been reupholstered and recycled sheets of iron have been bolted to the walls. Hundreds of classic meat mills have been hung along the walls and form an excellent talking point for those who take their love of hamburgers seriously.
